Core cutter Apparatus
This Core Cutter Apparatus is used for determination of in situ dry density of natural or compacted fine-grained soil, free from aggregates. A cylindrical cutter is used to extract a sample of the soil with the help of a dolly and rammer. The apparatus consists of a Core Cutter which is a steel tube 100 mm inside diameter by 130 mm long, a Driving Dolly recessed to fit the core cutter, and a Rammer that comprises a steel rod, handle and base.
Key Features of Core Cutter Apparatus
Efficient and precise cutting mechanism: Ensures uniform and accurate cuts.
Adjustable cutting length: Variable core lengths can be set using this apparatus.
Resilient Construction: Made with durable materials like stainless steel or heavy-duty aluminum for long-term use.
Easy handling and low maintenance: Designed for easy cleaning and minimal mechanical wear.
Applications of Core Cutter Apparatus
Soil Testing: Used for in-situ dry density determination of fine-grained soils, allowing for the assessment of soil compaction and bearing capacity.
Used to assess soil properties and ensure proper compaction in highway construction, foundation engineering, and earth dam construction.
